Skip Horvath, President, Natural Gas Supply Association

Horvath is president and CEO of the Natural Gas Supply Association, representing the major integrated and independent natural gas producers in the U.S.

Horvath holds an undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a masters degree in Public Policy from the University of California at Berkeley.

After working on the space shuttle for NASA, and then completing his military service, Horvath joined the Rand Corporation to work on national defense and energy issues. From there he joined the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) where he eventually became the Chief Operating Officer. As the head of NGSA, he is focusing on ways to make the entire natural gas industry work more efficiently.

Incentives Needed For Natural Gas There are tremendous opportunities to reduce carbon emissions by putting natural gas to more use in the electric sector. It’s a no-brainer that we should provide incentives to encourage the retirement of power plants that are inefficient and produce high amounts of carbon, so that they can be replaced with cleaner, more efficient power plants.
