Rubenstein Senior Fellow for Energy and the Environment at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), where he is also director of its Program on Energy Security and Climate Change. He was previously Science and Technology Fellow in Foreign Policy Studies at the Brookings Institution. Levi was project director for the CFR-sponsored independent task force on climate change, co-chaired by former governors George Pataki and Thomas Vilsack and published in 2008, and is the author of On Nuclear Terrorism (Harvard University Press, 2007) and (with Michael O’Hanlon) The Future of Arms Control (Brookings Institution Press, 2005).
Levi has published articles in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, The New Republic, Slate, Wired, and Scientific American. He was a technical advisor to the critically acclaimed television drama 24, and from 2003 to 2006, was a monthly columnist for The New Republic Online. Levi holds a PhD in War Studies from King’s College London and an MA in Physics from Princeton University.
