Hal Quinn, President, National Mining Association

Quinn was named president and CEO of the National Mining Association in September after having headed up the association's legal and regulatory affairs department since the group was formed in 1995. In that capacity, he has been intimately involved with the key energy and environmental issues affecting coal and its use in electricity generation. He also worked for the National Coal Association, one of NMA's predecessor organizations.

Quinn's career also included stints with the Interior Department and the Labor Department. He is a graduate of Denison University and the law school at Wake Forest University.

'Millions' Of Jobs Would Be Exported We do not believe that the public interest is well served by policies that approach our energy future as a zero-sum game.   Public policies encouraging the replacement of coal based electricity generation with natural gas are the bridge for accelerating the export of our manufacturing base and, with it, millions of high-wage jobs.
